Most of the treatments for stress and anxiety that are dealt with hypnosis will include helping the client to relax and also to learn some triggers that will assist them to deal with the physical symptoms of the condition. The therapeutic process will also serve to empower the client to make the changes that they need to make in their lives.
However, as each person will have their own issues to resolve, they will need to take responsibility for realising that they need to make changes in their lives. Hypnotherapy can help in this, but it will require a longer treatment involving analysis and finding the origins of their phobias or anxiety in the past.
In the same way, when treating clients with generalised anxiety, especially when they cannot identify the reason for it, the treatment can lead them to a deeper process of psychotherapy exploring the past. If these issues are not addressed, the client may substitute their original symptom for another.
